The author is a practicing garden designer, teacher and long-term RHS show garden judge, so has plenty of experience with and exposure to contemporary design and colour use. 21.10.11 — Green Base Grand Opening Event
Well-known Garden Designer and Landscape Architect Andrew Wilson is returning to his Thatto Heath roots for the opening of Helena Homes' new energy efficient community facility, the Green Base, next Wednesday 26th October.
Helena's Green Base is one of just a handful of buildings in the country which meet global Passivhaus environmental standards, offering energy savings of around 90% compared to a normal building. It will act as a community hub for learning about horticulture and allow tenants to play an active role in the development of green space across Helena estates.

The HTA British Rose Group are holding a one-day event for rose growers and retailers on Thursday 22 September 2011. FREE TO ATTEND, the event will present an important HDC update for growers and a fantastic chance for all serious rose retailers to visit the The Rose Garden, The Savill Garden, near Windsor. Andrew Wilson of Wilson McWilliam Studio will talk about his design solution. He will also share his vision of roses in the gardens of the 21st century.

07.07.11 — Rose Garden Talk
Andrew Wilson, a Fellow and former Chairman of the Society of Garden Designers, will be delivering a short talk at The RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show as part of a shared RHS/SGD platform. Andrew’s talk will shed light on the story of the New Rose Garden at Savill Gardens, part of The Royal Landscape. The garden, designed by WM Studio, was opened by HM The Queen in June 2010 as a new and progressive rose garden with roses selected for their intensity of colour and perfume and for their repeat flowering capabilities. Andrew will talk about the design concepts and the success of the garden in this its second year of flowering, a spectacular burst of colour from almost 3000 mass planted roses.
